I think you are capturing the emotions and conflicts very well with Kevin and his family- those were the very issues that folks had to deal with back then. Nothing was black and white, and that comes through beautifully here. Keep up the great storytelling!

It's weird, cause is the the third CB-related blast from the past I've had in the last week or so... first someone asked about CB on Twitter out of the blue, then Rachel messaged me about it, and now here you are. Wrong story, but oh well; it's good to hear from you! I'm glad you're still reading and enjoying this one. We're still having fun writing; it just seems to take us forever to actually finish an episode with so many people writing... you know how that goes. Okay, I was doing fine here until you had K doing the song and the *turtle dance*... soda through the nose, THANKS. Priceless. And ya know, I can so see Lancy and Kevin doing this ridiculous number, beat-boxing and all. Jay's girl-on-girl fantasy was hilarious, and when his extended imagination had him pummeling his head, I laughed out loud (literally). Curious about the rhyming thing... such clever writing! You all are doing an incredible job with this episode, I can tell a lot of work and research went into it. Major thumbs up, and needless to say, I'll be looking forward to each crumb you post.
Author's Response: LOL Thanks Louise!! We had to include the Carmen Sandiego song in there somewhere, and having Kevin be the one to suddenly bust out in song just seemed hilarious. We had to throw in the turtle dance! The rhyming thing is making fun of the Chief from the Carmen Sandiego TV show; she always spoke that way LOL. Thanks so much!! We put a TON of time into planning and researching for this one, and that's partly why it took SO long to write, so we appreciate you reading and enjoying it!

Poor Diamond, forced to abandon her treasures! Good thing it wasn't Lancy, he would have died from despair. :) Really great chapter, major kudos on the research into the codes. Nice mix of comedy and light drama (the old HimTak ruins... interesting!), and as always the action was fun. This is really superior writing, and I will be eagerly waiting for more.

I think this was a real gem! Landmark birthdays are really a time when you re-evaluate your life and where you've been, as well as where you want to go. Kevin's reaffirming his vitality, his zest for adventure, and his willingness to take risks really rang true. Glad to see he is thinking that life isn't over at 40. Trust me, it's not!
